Albert D. Schaeffer, 78, of Andreas R.1, died Sunday in Gnaden Huetten Hospital, Lehighton. He was the husband of Julia "Erma" (Zellner) Schaeffer. They were married 44 years in August.
Schaeffer worked at Paul E. Breiner Electrical and Plumbing Contractors, Andreas R.1, for 14 years before retiring in 1977. Before that he was a car man's helper for the Lehigh Valley Railroad at the Packerton shop in Lehighton for 18 years.
Born in West Penn Township, Schuylkill County, he was a son of the late Joseph A. and Katherine E. (Lorah) Schaeffer.
Survivors: Wife; daughters, Linda M., wife of Larry W. Meckes, and Rosann K., wife of Ernest L. Bailey, both of New Ringgold R.2; son, Carl D. of Lehighton; brother, Paul F. of New Ringgold R.1, and six grandchildren.
