Merle G. Abbe, 71, died Friday, June 26, 1998, in his home, after an extended illness. Services: 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Christ United Methodist Church, by Pastor Lowell Hoyle. Burial: Rosehill Cemetery, rural Toledo. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home, where the family will be present from 6 to 8 p.m.
Survivors include his mother, Maxine of Toledo; his wife, Ila Jean of Toledo; two sons, Gary of Taylors, S.C., and David of Broken Arrow, Okla.; five daughters, Joan Wedmore of Toledo, Sandra Leonard of North Liberty, Shelly Vileta of Iowa City, Beth Kiser of Easley, S.C., and Lisa Barker of Gilman; one brother, Jerry of Pineville, La.; and two sisters, Eunice Menary of Williamsburg, and Janice Aperans of Waterloo.
