ANNISTON — Funeral service for James Lloyd "Sonny" Wells, 79, will be 1 p.m. Sunday, November 8, 2009, at Gray Brown-Service with the Rev. Hollis Martin and the Rev. Jeanette Fisher officiating. Burial will follow at Anniston Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6-8 this evening.

Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Nettie M. Wells; daughter, Twyla Hobbs and husband, Wesley, of Alexandria; sons, Dennis Wells and wife, Rita, William Wells and wife, Kelly, both of Anniston; grandchildren, Nicholas Abernathy and wife, Lisa, Brent Abernathy, Carrie Wells, Todd Wells, Justin Wells and wife, Maggie, Cody Wells, Kaylee Wells, and Hope Simpson; great grandchildren, Aiden Abernathy, and Brodie Abernathy, and Amilee Davis; sister, Francis Horn; and several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be grandchildren. Honorary pallbearers will be the Men's Sunday School Class of Hall's Chapel Worship Center and Dan McClellan and Mike Abernathy. Mr. Wells was a long time resident of Anniston. He worked at Valley Machine and was owner of Sonny's Septic Service. He was a member of Hall's Chapel where he served as Deacon for many years.
