Hunter James Kirkland, 7, of Toone, died Wednesday evening, October 12, 2005 at St. Louis Children's Hospital.Born October 31, 1997, to James Edward and Linda Henley Kirkland of Toone, he loved camping, horseback riding, and bull riding. Hunter was recently baptized in the Mt. Olive Baptist Church and was proud to be an organ donor. He lived most of his life in Hardeman County.Services were 10 am, Monday, October 17, 2005, at Shackelford's Bolivar chapel with Don Hammons and Brad Bruhn officiating. Burial was at Mt. Olive Cemetery with Donnie Williams, Rickey Henson, Eric Henson, Charlie Thompson, Roger Kirkland, and Ray Kirkland serving as casket bearers and Robert Boyd Parker and Walter Riley Lax serving as honorary casket bearers.In addition to his parents, Hunter is survived by a sister, Wendy Kirkland of Toone; brother, John Kirkland of Toone; maternal grandmother, Clara Henley of Somerville; paternal grandmother, Nonie Kirkland of Whiteville; nephew, Jus-Audrey Kirkland of Toone and two special aunts, Brenda Henson and Janice Lax.
