Mrs. Anna Holm, pioneer Douglas county resident, passed away at the home of her son, Ole Holm, Holmes City, Minnesota, on November 19, 1939, at 10:20 being at the time of her death, 83 years, 8 months and 15 days. Mrs. Holm was born in Sweden on March 4, 1856. She was united in marriage to Peter J. Holm, at Spring Garden, Goodhue County, Minnesota on November 24th, 1876. They came to Douglas County in 1882 where they bought a farm on Oscar Lake and which had been her home until she moved and made her home with her son, Ole on March 22, 1936. Mr. Holm preceded her in death on July 14, 1932. Six children were born to the union of Mr. and Mrs. Holm, three of whom survive: Ole of Holmes City; Ida (Mrs. Swante Swenson) of Holmes City; Oscar of Solem township, two grandchildren: Anna Swenson and Ruby Holm. Mary passed away in infancy, one daughter, (Mrs. Gust Larson) and Betsy (Mrs. Theodore Johnson) have also preceded her in death. She joined the Oscar Lake church in 1884 of which she has been an active member, and also of the ladies aid. Funeral services were held Wednesday, November 22nd at 1 o'clock from the Anderson Funeral Chapel and at 2 o'clock from the Oscar Lake church, with Rev. David Edward officiating. Interment took place in Oscar Lake cemetery. Pallbearers were Reuben Wagenius, Joe Backelin, Carl Holm, Theodore Johnson, August Molander, Nels Molander.
