Bernard Pratte Bogy, Sr. was one of the children born to Joseph Bogy and his wife Eliza Soulard Kimball. Bernard, Sr. was a capitalist, who became a millionaire due to his successful business strategies. Bernard was the Republican candidate in 1921 for the 11th Missouri District Congressional seat. He was defeated by Harry B. Hawes, the Democrat candidate.

Bernard was united in marriage twice during his life-time: first to Eleanor May Griffith on February 5, 1890 in St. Louis, Missouri. Bernard and Eleanor were blessed with the birth of at least two children during their marriage:

And second, to Myrtle Loring on November 21, 1925 in St. Louis, Missouri. Bernard and Myrtle did not have any children born to them during their marriage.

Bernard passed away at the age of 90 from uremia as a result of his hypertrophy of the prostate according to his death certificate, nine years after his second wife Myrtle. They are interred together with his parents and grandparents.
