John H. Smylie Dies
Came to Visit Sister at Agatha - Passed Away Thursday
John H. Smylie of Sedgwick, Alberta, passed away at the home of his sister, Mrs. Dean Wright of Agatha, on March 2 and was buried at Sunnyside cemetery Saturday. He came here last November in the hope that the climate would be beneficial to his health.
The deceased was born at Body, Iowa, on May 31, 1883, and came to Nezperce when 14 years of age. He grew to manhood in this section and was married on August 9, 1909, to Bessie Violet Grow in Alberta, Canada. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Smylie of Sunnyside, Wash. The deceased is survived by three daughters, Velma, Violet and Vida. Mrs. William Lane, a sister of Sunnyside, attended the funeral.
He was a good neighbor, a loyal husband and a devoted father. Many friends in this section and in Alberta will sorrow at his passing.
