Joseph A. Rich, 41, of New Britain, passed away Monday (June 2, 2008). He is the husband of Colette Kingsbury Rich. Joseph was born in New Britain; son of the late Walter and Helen (Bandaruitus) Rich. He attended local schools and graduated from C.C.S.U. He was retired as a Grocery Store Manager. He was a member of The Marchegian Society Raffaele Sanzio Club in New Britain. Joey was an avid softball player, playing for many local teams. He was a member of Saint Ann Church, New Britain.
Besides his devoted wife Colette, Joseph leaves two beautiful daughters, Makenna and Mallory Rich; a brother Walter 'Buddy'' Rich and his wife Linda of Newington; three sisters, Karen Bixby and her husband Paul of Middletown, Kathleen McCrann of New Britain and Luisa Wright of Ocala FL; a father and mother-in-law, Charles H. and Joanne Kingsbury of Newington; an aunt and uncle, Frank and Mary Rich of Kensington; many nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are asked to meet at Saint Ann Church, North Street, New Britain, Friday June 6, at 10 a.m. to Celebrate a Mass of Christian Burial.
Burial will follow in Saint Mary Cemetery, New Britain. Friends may call at the Kenney-Luddy Funeral Home, 205 South Main Street, New Britain, Thursday June 5, from 5-7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Rich Children's Education Fund, c/o Dutch Point Credit Union, 465 Willard Ave., Newington, CT 06111.
