He was born Nov. 19, 1936, in Fort Collins, Colo., to Alexander and Katherine (Brill) Pyle.
He lived with his family on their farm in Wellington, Colo., until moving to Cheyenne when he was 7 years old. He attended schools in Cheyenne before being drafted into the U.S. Army, where he served for two years before going into the reserves. Robert drove a truck for Consolidated Freightways for 25 years before retiring in 1998. After his retirement, Robert drove a truck for Knife River during the summer months.
Robert married Karee C. Shurigar on March 14, 1964, in Custer, S.D. After his retirement, they wintered in Arizona and returned to Cheyenne to spend the summers.
He enjoyed boating, fishing, working in the yard and especially spending time with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Karee of Cheyenne; two sons, Daryl (Rainene) Miller of Aurora, Colo., and Michael (Suzi) Pyle of Cheyenne; seven grandchildren, Timothy, Michelle, Loretta and Rachel Miller, and Taylor, Hailey and Alex Pyle; two great-grandchildren, Jack and Elias Miller; three sisters, Janice Miller, Mary Boyd and Lillian Fox, all of Cheyenne; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Fred, Ruben and David Pyle; and four sisters, Ester Burtram, Shirley Clore, Dorothy Delahoy and Sherry Miller.
