Violet Chism, 74, of Battletown, KY, passed away Tuesday, November 26,
2013 at Sts. Mary & Elizabeth Hospital in Louisville, KY.

Violet's passions were reading historical novels, including native Americans,
the Appalachian region and country living, restoring and maintaining the
Chism Cemetery near Wolf Creek and genealogy.

She was born May 22, 1939, in Wolf Creek, KY, the daughter of the late
Edward S. & Almyra Jane Pollock Chism.

She was preceded in death by her infant brother, Harvie Chism.

Violet is survived by her son, Charles Chism of Mauckport, IN, her daughter,
Kovanna (Tim) Haley, of Brandenburg, KY; five granddaughters: Kristin Haley,
Eleisha (Carson) Wilkes, Jennifer (Kyle) Haley-Pullem, Kari (Bobby)
Bodeman and Karen (Mike) Yates; two great-grandchildren, Violet Pullem
and Robert Bodeman, and her long time companion James F. (Fred) Morgan.

Funeral services will be held at 12 Noon, E.S.T., Saturday, November 30,
2013, from the Chapel of the Bruington-Jenkins-Sturgeon Funeral Home with
burial to follow in the Chism Cemetery in Wolf Creek.

Visitation will be from 3 to 8 P.M. E.S.T. Friday, November 29, 2013, and
after 9 A.M. Saturday at the funeral home.

Expressions of sympathy may be made to the Chism Cemetery Fund.
