Nellie Steele Broadhead, age 95, passed away Sunday, March 9, 2003, at her home surrounded by her loving family. Born February 1, 1908 in Goshen, Utah to John Samuel and Sarah Ellen Somerville Steele. Her mother died when Nellie was six days old and she was raised by her wonderful father, along with seven siblings, all who have preceded her in death. She married Charles Darwin Broadhead, May 5, 1926 in Nephi, Utah. Marriage later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Nellie was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She loved her family dearly and was the most happy when she was with them at home or camping. She is survived by four children: Max (Grace) Broadhead of Charleston, Ora Simpson and Veda (Lowell) Brierley both of Heber City, Jay (Elayne) Broadhead of West Point; daughter-in-law Elma Broadhead of Riverton; 17 grandchildren, 57 great-grandchildren and 37 great-great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her loving husband Darwin of 50 years, son Loren Broadhead, son-in-law LaMar Simpson and two grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 13, 2003 at 1:00 p.m. in the Heber LDS 11th Ward Church, 500 North 365 East, Heber City. Friends may call on Wednesday from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Olpin-Hoopes Funeral Home, 288 North Main, Heber City, and on Thursday from 11:45- 12:45 p.m. prior to the services at the LDS Church. Interment will be in the Heber City Cemetery.
