Luther W. Lester, age 64, a
resident of Richlands died late
Sunday evening in a Marion
hospital following a lingering
illness.
He was born in Tazewell County
a son of the late Wheeler and
Mattie Lowe Lester, both Taze-
well County natives. He was
educated in the public schools
of Tazewell County and had
followed the vocation of farm-
ing until ill health forced
his retirement.
He is survived by one daugh-
ter, Mrs. Pansy Mae Ferrell of
Abingdon, Va., and one brother,
Joe Lester of Elk Garden, V.
Funeral services were con-
ducted Tuesday afternoon from
the Chapel of the Farmer Funeral
Home with the Rev. John Herndon
officiating. Interment was in
the Hankins Cemetery in Rich-
lands. The body remained at
the Farmer Funeral Home until
the funeral hour.
