NEWARK.
At this writing word has just reached us of the death of Milton D. Abbett at the home of his son, Joseph, three miles southwest of town. As he had been in poor health for some time and his death was not unexpected. We are not in possession of the exact age, but presume him to be nearly eighty years old.

The funeral of Milton D. Abbett, who died last Wednesday, was preached here on Thursday afternoon by Rev. W. F. Chamberlain, of Knox City. Had he lived until June 15 [sic], he would have been seventy-eight years old.
