According to the 1900 census he was a farmer and owned his own farm. According to information found online on familyorigins.com he owned what was later Hiller's Store jointly with his brother Mart Aaron in Arley, Alabama.

He married to Ada Frances Freeman on 8 Jun 1898 and they had two children, Bart Lee Aaron Sr and Novel W Aaron.

He was buried in Old Bethel Cemetery in Arley after dying of Typhoid Fever at the age of 29.
