Joseph G. Fasenmyer, 76 years old, a prominent clothing merchant in Kansas City, Kansas, for 25 years, died last night at his home, 612 North 17th Street in Kansas City, Kansas. He had been ill with heart disease for about a year. Coming to Kansas City, Kansas, from Clarion, Pennsylvania, in 1887, Mr. Fasenmyer first opened a novelty store at 446 Minnesota Avenue. After several years, he entered the clothing business at 530 Minnesota Avenue. In 1924, after having retired from the clothing business, Mr. Fasenmyer opened a motor car agency at 826 Minnesota Avenue. He retired from that business in 1931. For 48 years Mr. Fasenmyer had been a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church and the St. Leo Men's Society.
Mr. Fasenmyer was survived by his widow, Mrs. Mary Fasenmyer, of the home; a daughter, Mrs. Louis G. Spitzengel, of 2003 Tauromee Avenue in Kansas City, Kansas; three sons, Joseph A. Fasenmyer of 1517 Georgia Avenue, Harold W. Fasenmyer of 715 North 17th Street and Lawrence A. Fasenmyer of 612 North 17th Street, all of Kansas City, Kansas. Funeral services were held at the home at 8:30 o'clock on Wednesday and at 9 o'clock at St. Anthony's Catholic Church. Burial in St. John's Cemetery.
