Martha and Samuel lived in Illinois for many years. In 1910 they were living in Chicago with their two surviving children, Jessie and Samuel Jr.
But then they moved to Los Angeles. This would be fateful for their daughter, Jessie. Jessie married Walter Alexander Larson in 1917 and had two sons but her husband would die in 1921 from Tuberculosis leaving her with two very young sons. She never remarried.
Martha's son Samuel Jr would marry Luella Fannie Kiley (1892 - 1973) from Chicago.

Samuel Jr would make his way to Wilmington Delaware where he worked as a chemist. Dupont is headquartered in Wilmington.
