Princeton, W. Va. - Ruth Virginia Alderton, 92, of 1503 North Walker St. Princeton, formerly of Logan, died Saturday at a Princeton hospital.

Born at Davis, she was a daughter of the late Jacob Sanford and Catherine (Effland) Alderton.

She was a retired teacher, having taught 45 years.

She last taught at Logan Central Grade School for 36 years.

She was a member of Nighbert Memorial United Methodist Church in Logan.

A graduate of Fairmont College, she was a member of the Kappa Delta Pi Sorority, and a member of the Thita Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma Sorority of Logan.

She was a member of Walter Chapter 4 of the Order of the Eastern Star at Davis, the Logan County Retired Teachers Association and the WV and National Retired Teachers Associations.

She had resided in Princeton since February.

She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

Survivors: Nephews, Robert H. Krout of Hopewell, Va. and Homer Lee Krout of Princeton, and several nieces.

Graveside committal services will be held at 1 p. m. Tuesday at the Davis Cemetery at Davis with the Rev. Meade Gutshall officiating.

A memorial service will be held at a later date at the Nighbert Memorial United Methodist Church at Logan.

George W. Seaver Funeral Home in Princeton is in charge of arrangements.
