Obituary for Wendell Leon Adams
Wendell Leon Adams, 72 of Houston, formerly of Stamford, passed away Monday, December 2, 2013 at Northwest Medical Center in Houston, Texas. A Graveside service honoring his life will be held at 11:00 Friday, December 6, 2013 at the Highland Memorial Cemetery. Arrangements were under the direction of Kinney-Underwood Funeral Home in Stamford.
Wendell was born July 26, 1941 in Stamford, Texas, The son of the late Lyle and Bessie (Skiles) Adams. He married Nancy Lou Atchley July 28, 1961 in Houston, Texas where they made their home. Wendell worked for TXDOT for 36 years before retiring. Wendell graduated from Avoca High School, and moved to Houston in 1959. Wendell loved playing dominoes most of all moon, and loved watching his two favorite shows Gunsmoke and Bonanza. He enjoyed gardening planting all kinds of vegetables. He attended the Church of Christ in Houston.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sister Sylvia Coulter, and Nita Pace.
Wendell is survived by his wife, Nancy Lou of Houston; daughter, Sandra Rogers of Costa Rica; one Granddaughter, Andrea Duncan of Galway, Ireland, three brothers, Al Adams of Houston, Kenneth Adams of Houston, and Ronnie Adams of Haskell, four sisters; Beth Collier of Pecos, Vern Cowan of Houston, Peggy Crumby of Santa Fe, and Linda Hinton of Wilcox, Arizona and several nieces and nephews.
