John Joseph Haluczik

NEWARK: A Funeral Mass for John Joseph Haluczik, 90, of Newark will be held at the Church of the Blessed Sacrament, 1:00 P.M., Friday, December 6, 2013, with Fr. Jonathan Wilson officiating. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.

Mr. Haluczik, a United States Navy WWII Veteran, died at the Heath Nursing Care Center on Monday, December 2, 2013. He was born in Newark, Ohio on July 25, 1923, to the late George and Mary (Harasewicz) Haluczik.

John worked for many years at Licking Valley Tractor Sales and also maintained the family farm. He was a lifelong parishioner of the Church of the Blessed Sacrament where he faithfully volunteered as an usher and was a member of the Holy Name Society.

John is survived by many nieces and nephews and longtime family friend, Barbara Shanahan of Toledo. The last of his immediate family, John was preceded in death by his brothers, Mike, Paul and Frank Haluczik; and his sisters, Kathleen Sayatovich, Sophie Simco, Pauline Conners and Jenny Haluczik.

Friends and family may call from 2-4 and 6-8 P.M., Thursday, December 5, 2013 at the Reed-Egan Funeral Home, 141 Green Wave Drive, Newark, where a Vigil Service will be held at 5:30 P.M.

The family requests that memorials be made to the Church of the Blessed Sacrament, 378 East Main Street, Newark OH 43055.
