Billy K. Hissam, 68, of Sistersville went home to be with his Lord on Dec. 3, 2013.

Bill was born Jan. 9, 1945, in Sistersville, the son of the late Arlie and Gladys Kelley Hissam.

Bill was a trustee and attended the Sistersville First United Methodist Church. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of Vietnam and in the Army National Guard. He was a member and trustee of the Sistersville Elks BPOE Lodge 333, Masonic Lodge 39, Tyler County Museum Board and Trustee, a 1962 graduate of Sistersville High School where he was secretary of his senior class. He was still active in class reunions. He is a 41-year retiree of PPG. He was a member of the VFW Post 6327. He loved attending all of his grandchildrens sporting events.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Deborah Lynn (Hissam) Hayes in 2011; brother and sister-in-law, Bernard and Naomi Hissam; and brother-in-law, Herman Koerber. He is survived by his loving and caring wife, Temara Herbold Hissam of 27 years; daughter, Jill (Jay) LeMasters, all of Sistersville; stepson, Ryan Gorby of Denver, Co.; son-in-law, Steve Hayes of Hastings, Minn.; six grandchildren, Haylea, Hunter, Jarett LeMasters, Yale Wetzel, Madelynn and Lily Hayes; brothers, Kenneth (Betty) Hissam of Naples, Fla., Wanda Koerber of Paden City, Hadge (Maggie) Hissam of Chagrin Falls, Ohio, Jim (Joyce) Hissam of Georgetown, Texas, and Emel (Ester) Hissam of Indiantown, Fla.; and many nephews, nieces, great-nephews and nieces and great-great-nephews and nieces.

The family would like to extend their gratitude to Journey Hospice of Sistersville.

Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Friday at the First United Methodist Church, with Pastor Bill Dawson officiating. Visitation will be held from 4-9 p.m. today at Myers Funeral Home. Internment will be at Paden Memorial Gardens, Paden City.
