Burial will be in Windridge Memorial Park, Cary, Visitation was held Tuesday, at the funeral home. Troy was born August 14, 1926 in Atkins, AR and died Friday October 14, 2005 at Sherman Hospital in Elgin, IL. He was a son of Willie Poplin and Annie (Stepps) Poplin. He was a retired machinist who worked for 20+ years at Acme Industrial in Carpentersville. Survivors include his children: Diane (Mike) Taul, of Phoenix, AZ, Christine (Darrell) Schultz, of Hampshire, Patsy (Tim) Johnson, of Oroville, CA, Karen (John) Cornwell, of Genoa, IL. Troy Eugene Poplin, of Kirkland, IL, Daryl (Sheila) Poplin, of Springfield, OH, Petrilla (Jim) Higgin, of Phoenix, AZ, Mattie (Roger) Zelker, of Carpentersville, and Carter (Docia) Poplin, of Union, IL. 24 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, including special nephews, Steve, Don and Dave Poplin; two brothers, Gerald Poplin and twin brother, Roy Poplin of AR; He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 56 years, Narma (Alsup) Poplin, Oct 28, 2004; his parents, four sisters; one brother and one great granddaughter.
