Mrs. Kathleen Gladys Countess Strand, 82, of Huntsville, died today at a local hospital. The funeral will be Friday at noon at Laughlin Service Funeral Home with the Rev. Edward Gartrell officiating.
Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery.
Mrs. Strand, a native of Tennessee, has resided in Huntsville since 1951. She was a former employee of the Book Shop.
Survivors include a daughter, Nancy C. Stevens of Tennessee; two sons, Billy Parks Countess of Austin, Texas, and Dr. Robert H. Countess of Toney; two sisters, Nelle Sheehy and Jessie L. Stanfill, both of Memphis; a brother, Robert H. Casey of Illinois; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
