The son of the late Owen and Fidelia Phelps Adkins, he was born September 25, 1883 at Bent. He was married to Pearl Adkins.
Mr. Adkins was a farmer and a member of the New Hope Baptist Church.
Survivors include the following children, Vola Adkins, Howard Adkins, and Nina Richardson, all of Brownsburg, Indiana, and Hazel Hoover, Zionsville, Indiana; and two sisters, Ella Delk, Blanchester, Ohio and Ila Phelps, Somerset.
Funeral services were held Thursday morning at the New Hope Baptist Church with the Rev. Walter Jones officiating. Burial was in the Pine Thicket Cemetery.
Pulaski Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
