The Derrick, Dec 7 2013:
Kathleen A. Banks of Seneca passed into the loving arms of the angels on Friday, Dec. 6, 2013. Born April 24, 1922 in Oil City, she was a daughter of the late Frank C. McCloskey and Lanora Duncan McCloskey French.

She was a lifelong member of the Seneca United Methodist Church and thoroughly enjoyed the fellowship and friendships she made through her church. She had a wonderful outlook on life and enjoyed it to the fullest. Her most enjoyable moments were shared with her family at the backyard picnics and all the events her grandchildren were a part of. She loved her pets and thoroughly enjoyed the many dogs she raised over the years. She was one of the original mall walkers at the Cranberry Mall, for many years having logged thousands of miles while walking with her friends; was a member of the Senior Center in Seneca and looked forward to each Monday for lots of laughs, fun and a good meal there. She was employed at Bakers Auto Parts in Seneca for many years, from which she retired in 1984. She was an active member of the Northwest Hospital Auxiliary where she volunteered on a regular basis while her health allowed. She often spoke of the wonderful people that volunteer there like Mabel, Cindy and Jo.

On Oct. 4, 1943, she married Norman L. Banks who preceded her in death on Jan. 19, 2002. Surviving are son Terry Banks and wife, Rose, of Oil City; grandchildren, Shannon K. Jahn (Mike) of Denver, CO, and Shelly A. Hart (Colt) of Apex, NC; a great-grandchild, Maggie Rose Jahn of Denver; a nephew, Ronald Stanford and wife, Shirley, of Masury, OH. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and a son, Dennis Wade Banks who died in 1966 at the age of 18 due to a complication from muscular dystrophy; her sisters, Marge Arlene Cumming and Betty Jane Stanford.

Services will be at 11 am Tuesday at Seneca United Methodist Church with Rev. William Hasting officiating. Interment will be in Heckathorn Cemetery.
