She married Glenn Miller Grossnickle in South Whitley, Indiana on June 10, 1928; he died February 6, 1952. She was a member of the West Manchester Church of the Brethren, the Women's Fellowship of the church, and a former member of the North Manchester Home Extension Club. Dorothy and her husband farmed and she was a cook for Manchester College, Timbercrest Retirement Community, and in her own cafeteria in North Manchester. She liked to cook, crochet, and enjoyed helping the community through her home extension club.
She is survuved by her daughter, Doris Louise Ulery of Logansport, IN; 2 sons, Rex Leon Grossnickle of North Manchester, IN and Roger Lee (Sue) Grossnickle of Hoagland, IN; 2 sisters, Nina Prange of Fort Wayne, IN, and Edith Kennedy of South Whitley, IN; 3 grandsons, Dan (Danielle) Ulery of Pinnacle, NC, John Ulery of New Jersey, and Jason (Brandy) Grossnickle of Fort Wayne, IN; 2 granddaughters, Susan (Norman) Pollock of Decatur, IN, and Jenna Grossnickle of Fort Wayne, IN; 13 great grandchildren and was preceeded in death by 5 sisters and 1 great grandson.
