Franklin C. Sullins Sr., 91, died Dec. 4, 2013, at his Yuma home.
Born March 3, 1922, in Troutdale, Va., he was a retired civil servant and veteran of the U.S. Army.
A visitation will be 9 a.m. Wednesday at Johnson Mortuary Chapel, with funeral services at 11 a.m. Internment will follow services at Desert Lawn.

Franklin was born on March 3, 1922 in Troutdale, Virginia. Franklin joined the U.S. Army Air Corp from 1943 through 1945. He retired from Yuma Proving Ground as a Tank Machinist. He was also the owner of 8th Street Trading Post. Franklin was a member of the American Legion, V.F.W., D.A.V., and Purple Hearts. He loved auctions, swap meets and yard sales.

Franklin is survived by his sons, Frank Sullins Jr. (Glenda) of Gentry, Arkansas and Gerry Sullins (Theresa) of Yuma; daughter, Kathie Conner of Yuma; 6 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Josephine Sullins; daughter, Charlett Cubbage; father, Thomas Sullins; and mother, Hessie Sullins.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 11, 2013 from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Johnson Mortuary located at 1415 S 1st Avenue in Yuma with services following at 11:00 a.m. Pallbearers: Frank Sullins Jr., Gerry Sullins, Frankie Sullins, George Ward, Bill Temple, Robby Carrillo. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hospice of Yuma in Franklin's memory.
