OREN S. LESLIE.
Oren S. Leslie passed away at 6 o'clock Sunday morning. He leaves an aged wife, four daughters and three sons, viz.: Mrs. Clara Bourn and Mrs. Ilma McAdams, of Newark; Mrs. Edna Wheaton, of Vancouver, Canada; Mrs. Laura Gilley, of Fayette; R. C. Leslie and Samuel Leslie, of Kansas City, and Clyde Leslie, of Springfield, and a number of grandchildren. Mrs. Doris Sueltman, of Quincy; Seber Leslie, of Chicago, and Robert Gilley, of Fayette, attended the funeral. All the children, except Mrs. Wheaton were present at the funeral. Mr. Leslie was 89 years old and a soldier of the Civil War and the last one in this community. Dr. Ed Brown, of Edina, spoke the last rites by the request of Mr. Leslie as he had the last four of the G. A. R. in this vicinity. Rev. Henry White assisted with the service. The Cyril A. Graham Post, of Edina, and Robert Chilton Post, of Newark, of the American Legion, were in a body at the funeral. It was conducted at the Baptist church at 2 o'clock Tuesday afternoon and burial was in the I. O. O. F. cemetery by the side of his son, Elmer.
