Marvin Adams, 53, 821 Avenue H, died Sunday at 11:15 a.m. at a local hospital after a brief illness.
Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Bessie Adams; three stepdaughters, Mrs Lorrine Edginton, Long Beach, Calif., Mrs. Richard Newell, Gadsden, and Mrs. Bonnie Blane, Rome, GA; one stepson, Bill Chappell, Chattanooga, Tenn.; one brother, James Adams, Anniston; two sisters, Mrs. Herman Curry, Anniston and Mrs. Ray Medders, Anniston; several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Adams was born in Cherokee County and had been a resident of Gadsden since 1917. A member of the Henry Street Baptist Church, he was a tractor operator for the city of Gadsden for 15 years.
Burial was to be in Crestwood Cemetery with Collier-Butler Funeral Home directing.
Active pallbearers were Charles Light, M.P. Wilkerson, Claude Wilkerson, Bill Adams, Elton Pledger, George Sizemore and Wallace Wilkerson.
