Anderson Allen and wife, Sarah Tilley removed from Stokes County, North Carolina, to Patrick County, Virginia, with their children, just prior to 1830. In a property record involving his father-in-law's estate, it looks as if, Anderson is referred to as C. Anderson Allen.
Nevertheless, in his last will and other documents, it is clear he "went by" Anderson. He is my third ggrandfather.

In 1843 the Allen family owned and operated a resort, called "The Sulphur Springs" or "Yellow Sulphur Springs".
The waters there were rich with a type of sulphur that American Indians revered as it relieved and sometimes cured certain ailments. Before he died, Anderson Allen, dispersed much of his properties by deed to family members.
However, the "Spring Tract" was sold in 1850 by the heirs of Anderson Allen, as he died in 1848.
