Jorgen Olson, 82, former Firesteel area farmer, passed away Nov 8 in the McLaughlin Hospital. He had been hospitalized for 7 weeks.
Funeral services were in Baptist Church in TL with Rev J H Sheaffer and Rev Coates officiating. Interment was in TL cemetery. Casketbearers: Wm Reum, Jr of Worthington, MN; Tim Schweitzer, Bob, Tom, Corky and Jeff Jackson. Kesling FH in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Olson was born Aug 21, 1893, in Norway and came to the US in 1911. He married Alice Cousins in 1930 at TL. They lived on a farm north of Firesteel. Mrs. Olson passed in 1956. He then worked for the Harold Jackson family farm NE of Firesteel for a number of years and continued to make this his home until his final illness.
He is survived by two stepdaughters: Blanche (William) Reum and Pauline (John F) Schweitzer both of TL; two stepsons: Herbert Cousins of Salina, KS; Dick Cousins of Estacada, OR; brother: Andrew of Ada, MN; 20 grandchildren.
