One of four children, she was born February 26, 1918 in Hardin County, Kentucky, the daughter of Asa and Ida Pottinger Noe. She graduated from High School in Kentucky and also attended Certified Business College.
On November 8, 1944, she was married to Francis "Fritz" Claerbout in Abilene, Texas.
For many years, she served and later retired as an accountant with Dresser Industries; she had also previously worked at other local businesses. In her leisure, she enjoyed quilting (and teaching such classes), sewing and gardening.
She is survived by two children, David (Marcia) Claerbout of Carmel, Indiana and Mark (Patty) Claerbout of Bloomington, Indiana, a daughter-in-law, Karen Claerbout of Wellington, Florida, ten grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, cousins and her devoted caregiver, Denise Brochin.
