Louise Mae DeVault, 92, of Brenham, passed away Monday, December 9, 2013, at her home. Visitation will be from 3 to 5 p.m., Tuesday, December 10, and the funeral services will be at 10 a.m., Wednesday, December 11. Both will be held in Brenham Memorial Chapel with Pastor Charles Parnell officiating. Burial will follow in Prairie Lea Cemetery.

Mae was born in Washington County, Texas, to the late August and Louise (Nordt) Kolwes. She was baptized October 21, 1921 and confirmed April 14, 1935 by Pastor Utesch, both in Salem Lutheran Church of Salem.

On February 28, 1953, she married Edward J. DeVault. They made their home in Alvin, Texas, for a number of years before returning to Brenham. She was active in her church. Mae loved the Lord, her church, and her family. She was truly a blessing to the lives that crossed her path.

She was preceded in death by her husband; son; son-in-law; and all of her brothers and sisters.

Survivors include: daughters, Sherry Goebel, of Brenham, and Patty Holmes and husband, Boyd, of Midland; son, Jay DeVault, of Brenham; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; as well as many nieces and nephews.
