Mrs. Lillie Rogan, wife of Rev. J.W. Rogan, pastor of the Red Bank Presbyterian Church, was instantly killed yesterday afternoon. She met her death at Great Barrington, Mass., while on a vacation trip with her husband.

Mrs. Rogan was killed by being thrown from a trolley car when the car that was traveling at a high rate of speed, suddenly lurched and Mrs. Rogan lost her balance and fell from the seat to the ground. She fell backward, landing on her head. The back of her head was crushed in and her forehead was bruised.

Mrs. Rogan was of southern war stock. Her father, General Alfred E. Jackson, served in the confederate army during the civil war. Her grandfather was General Taylor, who fought in the Mexican War. Mrs. Rogan was born 59 years ago in Jonesboro, Tenn.

Thirty-four years years ago she married Mr. Rogan and the couple began house keeping at Bristol, Tenn., where he had his first charge. They moved to Thomaswood, Ga., and later took up residence at Savannah, Ga. The climate at Savannah did not agree with Mrs. Rogan so the couple went to the Presbyterian church at Fleminton. Three years ago they moved to Red Bank, where they had since lived.

She leaves a brother and two sisters; Henry C. Jackson of Jonesboro and Mrs. Eliza Murphy of Jonesboro and Mrs. Chas. L. Fuller, of Nashville, Tenn. She left no childern.
