She was born Feb. 27, 1910, in Fond du Lac, the daughter of John and Ann Murphy Gray. She married James Purcell Dec. 16, 1933, in Albert Lea, Minn.
She had been a bookkeeper for the Fond du Lac Dry Goods store. She also worked at Sherm's Grocery Store in Princeton, retiring in 1981. She was a member of St. John's Catholic Church, Princeton.
Surviving are one son, James (Goldene) Purcell of Stevens Point; one daughter, Maureen (Stanley) Weihert of Wausau; seven grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; one sister, Catherine (Art) Reinhold of Fond du Lac; one sister-in-law, Lenora (John) Gray of Fond du Lac; and one daughter-in-law, Ann Purcell of Anchorage, Alaska. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband James on Aug. 3, 1982; one son; and two brothers.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 22, 1991, at St. John's Catholic Church, Princeton, with the Rev. Dale Grubba officiating. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at Wachholz Funeral Home, Princeton, with the rosary to be recited at 6:30 p.m.
