Robert was born Oct. 9, 1914, in Oden, Ind., the son of the late William and Clara Edwards Christenberry. On Jan. 27, 1940, in Lake Geneva, he was united in marriage to Charlotte I. Marzahl. She preceded him in death June 2, 2002.
He lived in Hebron for more than 60 years.
Robert worked as a carpenter foreman for Arnold N. May Builders in Richmond, Ill., for many years. He enjoyed fishing and gardening.
He is survived by two sons, Gary Lee, Shelbyville, Ill., and Terry Leon, Hebron; one granddaughter, Robyn Louise Christenberry, Whitewater; one brother, Alvin (Winifred), Assumption, Ill.; and three sisters, Clara (Alfred) Bieyeu, Taylorville, Ill., Martha Prason, Decatur, Ill., and Mary, Florida.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Russell and Joseph; and three sisters, Treva, Bernice and Annabelle.
Graveside services Wednesday, April 4, 2007, at Hillside Cemetery, Genoa City, with the Rev. Brian D. Metke officiating. Memorial remembrances may be made to Hebron Rescue Squad, Hebron, IL, 60034. The Haase-Derrick-Lockwood Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
