Ellen Peebles was the daughter of Robert Duncan Peebles and Betty DRUE Jane Tolbert Peebles. Ellen's siblings were: Willie Preston Peebles Posey, Slena Mae Peebles Murray, R D Peebles, Rayburn Redding Peebles, James David Peebles, J W Peebles, and an unnamed sister and brother who died in infancy.

She married in 1945 to Roy S Bassham and had daughter, Betty Lenora Bassham. Her second marriage was to Bill Dyer and they had one daughter, Carolyn Ann Dyer.

Ellen moved to Dallas Texas with her daughter in the 1950s after her marriage to Bill Dyer. The family later moved to Benton County, Arkansas. Ellen owned a home in Gravette until near her death.
