Martin was born in Poland, the son of John and Michalina (Plucinski) Krukowski. He married Josephine Jados Rogoski on 23 June 1924 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Manistee. They were the parents of 4 children, Edward, Lucille, Gordon and Clara.
