Maggie L. Enge was born on April 3, 1928, in Lee County to Eddie Morrison and Amanda Nelson Morrison. She was the 12th child out of 15. Maggie attended school in Sand Hill Tanglewood, Texas. She joined church at a young age under the guidance of Rev. Booker. She later met and married James Heslip at an early age and they had one child, Imogene Heslip. Maggie grew up and enjoyed life, learning and doing things to make a living. She became and was known for the "Best Avon Lady" in Odessa, Texas.
