Born on Feb. 17, 1930, he passed away on October 21, 2005. "Ernie" was a devout Catholic, a relentless soldier in the Army of the LORD. Upon graduation from Catholic High School in Arizona, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy, where he served for nine years. He spent the next 21 years in government service, mostly with the U.S. Postal Service. During this time, he served for two years as Vice President of the American Postal Worker's Union, representing the State of Nevada in two National Conventions. A devoted husband to the late Gloria Scott, he is survived by two sons, Phillip and Mitchell, four daughters, Diane, Linda, Kathleen, and Anna Dina, his sons-in-law, 10 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, his sister Nena, and brothers Tito, Robert, Arthur, and Armando. Ernesto was generous, kind, and compassionate, and will be remembered, loved, and missed, always. VAYA CON DIOS! Visitation at Andrews & Greilich, 3939 Fruitridge Rd., Sacramento, CA, on Oct. 27, at 10:00 AM-8:00 PM, with Rosary at 6:00 PM. Mass with Msgr. Kavanagh at St. Rose's Catholic Church, 5961 Franklin Blvd., Sacramento, CA, on Oct. 28 at 11:00 AM and will be laid to rest at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery, 6700 21st Ave., Sacramento.
