Early Life: Born third of thirteen children, Joe grew up in a loving and hardworking family.
Life's Work/Service/Interests: Joe raised his children with the same morals and values he grew up learning. He retired from the Denver and Rio Grande Western Railroad in 1985. He was an active member of the San Andres Catholic Church in Payson, Utah, the Knights of Columbus, and the American Legion. He was not only devoted to his family, and to the Lord, but to his country, as well, being a World War II Veteran; serving our country during the duration. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, reading, and the most precious time on this earth that he treasured and enjoyed was spending time with his wife and ever-growing family. He was a devoted and loving husband, father, and brother with great love for his Lord, the Blessed Mother, his wife, children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, sisters and brothers. The legacy that he left behind for his family was his work ethics, and his great faith in the Lord. He will truly be missed, forever loved, and never forgotten. Jose "Joe" Valdez, of Spanish Fork, Utah, passed away on December 12, 2013. He was 87 years old.
Survived By: His loving and caring wife, Louisa, who devoted such love while caring for him; his six sons: Tony, Rick (JoAnn), Cecil, Lewis (Sylvia), Terry, Michael Gregg (Nick); his brothers and sisters: Dan (Ramona) Valdez, Stella Gutierrez, Eileen Valencia, and Robert (Norma) Valdez.
Preceded In Death By: His parents; brothers, Ben and Delfin; sisters: Josephine, Julia, Sencion, Lorraine, Rosalie, and Susie.
Services: Viewing and Rosary held at Walker Funeral Home; Celebration of Life held at San Andres Catholic Church in Payson, Utah.
