Please add the following transcription of the note by Benjamin Warner left in his knapsack and found when his family donated it to the Fort Ticonderoga museum: “This Napsack I caryd Through the War of the Revolution to achieve the American Independence I Transmit it to my oldest sone Benjamin Warner Jr. with directions to keep it and transmit it to his oldest sone and so on to the latest posterity and whilst one shred of it shall remain never surrender you libertys to a foren envador or an aspiring demegog. Benjamin Warner Ticonderoga March 27, 1837″
