Adams

Herman Adams, 81, of Mooresburg died Friday, Sept. 4 at Hawkins County Memorial Hospital after a brief illness.

A U.S. Army veteran of World War II, he was retired from the State of Tennessee Highway Department and was a member of Spruce Pine Grove Missionary Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Mack and Levie Laughner Adams.

Surviving are his wife, Alice Carroll Adams; daughters, Clara Murphy and Marie Helton of Mooresburg; son, Jimmy Adams of Rogersville; half-brother, Gale Peavler of Rutledge; six grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held Monday at 2 p.m. at Spruce Pine Grove Missionary Baptist with Rev. Randy Epps and Rev. Don Brewer officiating.

Burial was in Lovin Cemetery.

Broome Funeral Home of Rogersville in charge of arrangements."
