Bill R. Prewitt, 77 of Lexington, Indiana, passed away on Monday, December 9, 2013 at Clark Memorial Hospital in Jeffersonville, Indiana. He was born on February 10, 1936 in Grant County, Kentucky, the son of the late Clarence and Gladys (McGrew) Prewitt. After graduating from Scottsburg High School in 1954. Bill married Doris Foster on May 19, 1957. He was a retired heavy equipment operator for Operating Engineers Local 181 in Henderson, Kentucky, also co-owner of the old Prewitt Construction Company in Scottsburg, Indiana, was a member of the Pleasant Ridge Methodist Church near Lexington, Indiana and was a veteran of the Indiana Army Reserves in Scottsburg, Indiana. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Faye Wilson. Survivors include his wife, Doris Prewitt; a son, Dan Prewitt of Lexington, Indiana; three daughters, Connie Rose and her husband Chuck of Scottsburg, Indiana, Tracy Wells and her husband Glen of Lexington, Indiana and Shelby Boley and her husband Roger of Scottsburg, Indiana; a sister, Judy Samples and her husband Ronnie of Austin, Indiana; three granddaughters, Christa West (Evan), Laura Justice (Tristan) and Carmen Boley; five great grandchildren, Allison, Emily and Caroline Justice and Mason and Max West and several generations of nieces and nephews, including David, Travis and Chet Wilson. Interment in Estil Cemetery. Memorial Contributions: Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation c/o Collins Funeral Home.
