Excerpt from obituary published in The Jacksonville Journal on October 11, 1923:

The body of the late Samuel Richard Posey was prepared for burial and, accompanied by his bereaved wife and family, was taken to Birmingham, Ala., last night at 10 o'clock, the former home of the deceased where funeral and interment will take place.
