Stanford Lee Adler, artist, scientist, pilot, and winemaker, passed away at the age of 89, Monday, March 12, 2012 after a short illness. Born in New York City, September 30, 1922; he was the son of the late David Herman Adler and Nina Harger Adler.

Stanford was a B-29 Flight engineer during World War II in the Caribbean theater. He spent thirty five years in the field of biomedical engineering working in clinical lab methods. He held 22 patents for automation of hematology, immunology and blood coagulation procedures. He retired to Warwick, NY where he had time for winemaking, painting, sketching and designing and crafting jewelry. He moved to Goodview, VA in 1994 and finally to the Annapolis, MD area in 2011.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Gerard Adler, and half-brother, John Styers. Rite of Committal was conducted March 17, 2012 at Resurrection Catholic Church Cemetery with Deacon Chris Barrett officiating. Arrangements by Tharp Funeral Home & Crematory, Bedford.
