Enos "Ray" Cooper Jr. was born December 4, 1927 in Bristow, Creek County, Oklahoma, to Enos Ray Cooper Sr. and Mabel Carlile. He died peacefully in his home December 13, 2013.
Music was a major part of his life; he could play almost any stringed instrument, but was exceptional with the guitar. He played in many bands including his own, over the years. He recorded several songs in the 50's with Bill Carter including the famous "Jailer Man". All those that knew him will tell you he loved to talk and tell stories from the past.
Ray was preceded in death by his wife Addie Franchell Pique of 47 years. His brother and sister-in-law, Wayne and Bobbie, his sister and brother-in-law, Evelyn and Dover Green, and his brother-in-law Lloyd Martin.
He is survived by his sister, Inez, three sons and their wives; a daughter and her husband. nine grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; eight nieces and six nephews and their families; as well as a very special friend, Mae.
He will be greatly missed.
A funeral service will be held Wednesday, December 18, 2013, 1:00PM at Flahiff Funeral Chapel, Caldwell with graveside service to follow at Kohlerlawn Cemetery, Nampa.
