David W. Rooksberry, 53 and of Jasonville, passed away at 1 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 6, 2002 at Sullivan County Community Hospital. Born Aug. 30, 1948 in Linton, son of Floyd Junior and Joanna Jane (Thomas) Rooksberry. He attended Apostolic Bibleway Church of Linton. Survivors include his mother, Joanna Jane Rooksberry of Jasonville; daughter and son-in-law, Renac and Jim Smith of Rensselaer; one son, David F. Rooksberry of Sturgis, Ky.; three sisters, Anna Bennett, Cathie Hansens, and Patty Miller of Jasonville; one brother, Frank Rooksberry of Jasonville; aunt, Alma Salesman of Jasonville; two granddaughters; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father; an infant brother, Thomas Michael Rooksberry; and grandparents. Funeral service will be at McClanahan-Lee Funeral Home in Jasonville at 1 p.m. on Wednesday with the Pastor John Sullivan officiating. Burial will follow at Peavey Cemetery at Howesville.
