Katie Bell Scow Maxwell Dowdy was born August 30, 1926 to Clarence Ephram and Kate Marie Scow in Mayfield, Utah. Katie Bell Scow Maxwell Dowdy died at 87, October 20, 2013 in Molalla, Oregon.

Katie was a high school graduate and mother of six. She was married to Archie Maxwell and later to Joe Dowdy. She lived in Oregon City,Oregon, Ogden, Utah, and Reno, Nevada.

Katie packed parachutes during World War II and was a fan of the Hollywood movie stars, especially Elizabeth Taylor.

Katie was a member of the Mayfield LDS Church.

Survivors include her sons: Bob Maxwell of Canby, OR.; Bill Maxwell, of Reno, Ben Maxwell, of Vancouver, WA. and Barry Maxwell of Aloha, OR.; daughter, Becky Collier, of Vancouver, WA., 10 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.

A viewing was held Monday, October 28, 2013 at Canby Funeral Chapel. A graveside service was held Monday, October 28 at Mountain View Cemetery in Oregon City, OR.
