Walter Q. "Gunky" Kohr, 86, Palmyra, formerly of Colonial Park, died Tuesday, October 25, 2005, at the Carolyn Croxton Slane Residence, Harrisburg. Born January 19, 1919, in Orwin, he was the son of the late Harvey and Amelia (Miller) Kohr. He retired from H. J. Williams Construction Company, York, as a civil engineer; was a member of the American Society of Highway Engineers and the Wormleysburg American Legion. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and the Korean War. Surviving are his wife of 59 years Doris L. (Steily) Kohr; daughters Bonnie K. Purdue of Danville, VA, and Patti K. Hileman of Etters; four grandchildren; seven greatgrandchildren; and nieces and nephews. Funeral Thursday, October 27, at Buse Funeral Home, Palmyra.
