Son of John Best and Mabel Bowers. He graduated from the Berkshire High School Class of 1934. He served in the military. He met Eloise Capps and they married in February 1944 in Lafayetter, IN. They had a son, Jay. They divorced. He married Lucille about 1957 and they divorced about a year or so later. Sometime before 1962, he married Toni (Tonina). In the 1960's Bob and Toni had a restaurant for many years in Binghamton, NY. Bob had a stroke when he was in his 70's and had poor health for the remainder of his life. He was extremely fortunate to have Toni taking care of him for the many years he suffered poor health after the stroke.
